Dawie de Jager is a prominent South African musician, composer, and songwriter. His passion for music grew from his childhood in a family that frequently hosted musical evenings featuring well-known South African artists. Originally from Bronkhorstspruit, he first gained recognition as a member of the Afrikaans folk-rock 6 piece band Klopjag, which he co-founded and played with for over 2 decades. After Klopjag took a brief hiatus in 2010, Dawie co-founded Die Tuindwergies, a country-rock band. His versatility as a musician expanded further when he began composing scores for South African feature films, a pursuit he has continued alongside his live performances.

In 2017, Dawie participated in The Voice South Africa, reaching the Top 24 contestants. His soulful performances, such as his rendition of U2's "One" during the blind auditions, earned him a spot on #TeamBobby and gained him further popularity. Beyond his band work, he launched a solo career, releasing several singles, including "Eendag as jy groot is," which continues to receive airplay on major Afrikaans radio stations. Dawie is also known for his collaborations with other artists, such as Roan Ash, and he has performed internationally, including at the CMA Festival in Nashville
