Some have spent years honing their skills in songwriting, instrumentalism and performance skills. Others are just beginning to “dip their toe” into musical creativity. In these hands-on classes, students teach one another and participate in production and songwriting sessions. Academy mentors and guest lecturers guide sessions and deliver personalised one-on-one feedback to help mould and develop creative visions.
These classes were designed to demystify modern music production techniques. This means learning the fundamental principles behind various Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and plugins. We cover sound design, synthesis, MIDI programming, signal pro-cessing, vocal production and “in the box” recording and mixing. These classes are broken up based on several levels of aptitude. Whether you’ve never opened Garage Band or are an Ableton veteran, we have the course for you.
These classes revolve around audio and the physical principles of sound. We use our top-notch studios to teach a number of topics including acoustics, the inner workings of microphones, analogue and digital recording techniques, as well as both fundamental and advanced mixing and mastering. We aim to help students develop the skills necessary to confidently record, mix, and master music at a professional level.
