What to do on your Sunday afternoons this fall? Whether you’re a melomaniac or just want to chill before the new week starts: the Sunday Sessions in the legendary Wisseloord Studios got you covered! Every first Sunday of the month, one of the live rooms transforms into a podium for new sounds, offering free performances from upcoming talent.
During the Wisseloord Sessions you get a look behind the scenes of two performing artists of the month. You are invited to be part of an intimate performance in one of the Live Rooms in the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum. During the other days of the week, big bands and orchestras share the same space to record their music. The Wisseloord Sunday Sessions are your chance to get a free glimpse of the recording
spaces in the beautiful studios while enjoying the performances in a laid-back atmosphere.
On Sunday October 6th, Elle Hollis and Sacha will share the Live Room for two separate live sessions. Elle Hollis is a singer, lyricist and composer from the Netherlands. She feels at her best on a stage: it is her comfort zone.
Elle’s music blends electronic pop with her warm voice and bright lyrics. This summer, her first ever Dutch-written songs were released for herself: the lyrics of ‘Op mijn naam’ and ‘Het is oké zo’ resonate as honest and sensitive poems on music. Through her songs, Elle aims to connect deeply with listeners through her lyrics as well as providing them with music you can dance to. After embarking on a creative and adventurous journey to Stockholm, writing and recording trips to New York and Los Angeles followed. Elle’s career soon gained momentum, with over half a million streams, features in prominent blogs like Kaltblut and FGUK Mag, and airplay on Radio 2, the top station in the Netherlands. Elle Hollis performed at Pinkpop 2022 and hasn’t stopped charming the festivals since.
Sacha’s upcoming EP ‘Change of Heart’ was mixed in Studio 2 in Wisseloord. The Paris-based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer gives you an honest look into who he is.
Previous live performances of “nothing else” and “flowers” give a bit away from Sacha’s previous EP “Flowers” under his former pseudonym Johnny Longlegs. ‘I wanted to find a transition between my old self and the new music that I make so I thought it’d be a good idea to record them in the style of my upcoming EP.’ he tells Variance Magazine. ‘Change of Heart’ is the first step in stepping towards this truthful version of himself. The songs are close to Sacha and are about identity and family.
During the sessions the restaurant, Brasserie Wisseloord, is open: enjoy a lunch in the cozy forest restaurant before soaking into the performances of Elle Hollis and Sacha.
The performances start at 13:30 and you have free entrance. Join us for a relaxing afternoon of live music—block your agenda today!
