On Sunday, July 5th 2026 another edition of the Sunday Sessions will be held at the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum. This Sunday afternoon from 13:30 on, the audience will be part of a variety of live recordings from Subterranean Street Society and Mathilde Bloom.
Subterranean Street Society
Based in Amsterdam, Danish–Dutch trio Subterranean Street Society blends raw grunge energy with folk storytelling. Their songs hit like confessionals, shifting between fragile honesty and explosive power. Their sound lives somewhere between Nirvana and Mumford & Sons. You can expect fuzzy guitars, intense dynamics, and poetic lyrics thatcut straight to the core.
On 27th March 2026, the band are releasing their first single « Kindness » of their upcoming album set to release late-october 2026. A song written during a hitchhiking trip that singer Louis made with my Irish friend Stevie through Malin Head, the northernmost tip of Ireland. The lyrics are basically a diary entry from that road: snapshots of landscapes, conversations, and the strange clarity you get when you are moving without a plan.
Mathilde Bloom
Mathilde Bloom is a multi-talented pop artist, songwriter, and producer. She creates timeless Dutch-language pop songs with catchy melodies and beautiful lyrics that draw you into her stories. She wrote her first song at the age of four. As a headstrong girl, Mathilde sang with her guitar, full of conviction, about everything she did and didn’t want in life. With this great passion for music and performing, she knew from a young age that she wanted to become an artist and songwriter. After her studies at the Conservatory, Mathilde completed the production program at the Abbey Road Institute. In June 2023, she took the step to start her own artist career. With her independent releases, Mathilde has achieved hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify. Mathilde writes and co-produces her songs in her studio in Amsterdam, where she can often be found until the late hours. She is currently working on her debut album, which takes you on a journey through the many different facets of love.
The combination of her pure voice, radiant personality, and honest music evokes emotions. This was evident during her twenty Popronde shows in eighteen cities across the Netherlands, where she performed solo with her guitar. On social media, Mathilde is making a huge impact with her unique videos, which have already been viewed millions of times, and she has gained thousands of new followers in recent months. 2026 promises to be a great year for Mathilde Bloom, with new releases and her first headline shows of her own.
